The Governor of Kogi State, Ahmed Ododo, has called on Christians to seize the sacred moment of Christmas to pray fervently for Nigeria and to live lives of service, humility, love and sacrifice, as exemplified by the life and teachings of Jesus Christ.

This was contained in a statement issued on Thursday and made available to newsmen in Lokoja by the Commissioner for Information, Kingsley Fanwo.

In his Christmas message to the people of Kogi State and Nigerians at large, Governor Ododo described Christmas as a season of deep reflection, spiritual renewal and recommitment to the values that bind humanity together, urging citizens to place the nation at the centre of their prayers.

“Nigeria is at a defining moment in its history and requires the collective prayers, goodwill and responsible actions of all citizens to strengthen unity, peace and national prosperity,” Ododo noted.

He also called on Nigerians to pray for President Bola Tinubu, asking God to continue to grant him wisdom, strength and good health as he leads the country through a critical period of economic reforms and national renewal.

Ododo commended Tinubu’s reforms, describing them as bold and people-focused, and noted that they were already expanding opportunities and prosperity across the country, with Kogi State benefiting from improved fiscal space, increased investments and renewed confidence in governance.

According to the governor, the impact of these reforms has enabled his administration to deepen investments in infrastructure, security, human capital development and social welfare, thereby improving the quality of life of the people of Kogi State.

He urged citizens to continue to support the President’s reform agenda and his administration’s development programmes, stressing that sustainable progress can only be achieved through patience, unity and shared responsibility.

He reassured the people of Kogi State of his commitment to people-centred governance, accountability and inclusive development, while encouraging them to use the Christmas season to promote peace, kindness and compassion in their communities.

The governor concluded by wishing Christians a joyous Christmas celebration and all residents of Kogi State and Nigerians a peaceful, prosperous and hope-filled festive season.
