President Bola Tinubu and the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, paid a courtesy visit to business mogul and elder statesman, Chief Kessington Adebutu, in Lagos on Christmas Day.

The visit was disclosed by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, in a post shared alongside photographs on his official X (formerly Twitter) handle on Thursday.

The visit comes months after Adebutu celebrated his 90th birthday in grand style, with the event attracting prominent political leaders, captains of industry and other notable Nigerians who gathered to honour his decades of contributions to business and philanthropy in the country.

The celebration featured prayers, goodwill messages and tributes highlighting Adebutu’s rise from humble beginnings to becoming one of Nigeria’s most successful businessmen.

The nonagenarian was celebrated for his enduring legacy in business, philanthropy and nation-building, with family members, friends and associates extolling his virtues and contributions to Nigeria’s socio-economic development.

Chief Adebutu, widely regarded as one of Nigeria’s foremost industrialists, has remained an influential figure in both the business and social spheres.

The Christmas Day visit by President Tinubu and the First Lady is seen as a further mark of honour for the elder statesman, reinforcing the close relationship between the Tinubu family and the respected industrialist.
