The Senator representing Kogi West senatorial district, Sunday Karimi, has called for the reelection of President Bola Tinubu in 2027, assuring his constituents of improved representation and development interventions.
Addressing a large gathering of supporters at his country home in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area, on Friday, Karimi declared his unwavering support for Tinubu’s reelection while also seeking continued backing for his return to the Senate.
He urged attendees to return to their communities to mobilise support for the president and the All Progressives Congress, stressing the importance of unity among the state’s political stakeholders.
“Our priority is to ensure the reelection of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu come 2027. I am not in a political tussle with anyone whatsoever in the state.
“The reelection of President Tinubu is a task that must be accomplished by all critical stakeholders in Kogi State,” the senator said.
Karimi also engaged with constituents on their concerns and suggestions for effective representation. He commended the president’s efforts, describing them as “tireless” and aimed at advancing national progress and ensuring citizens’ security, despite prevailing challenges. He alleged that rising insecurity is intended to undermine the administration.
He encouraged his constituents not to lose hope, assuring them that their concerns are being raised in the National Assembly for swift resolution.
The senator further briefed residents on his recent meeting with the Brigade Commander in Lokoja regarding insecurity in Kogi West. As a result, he revealed, troops would be deployed to Olle-Bunu, Jege, Odo-Ere, Idofin, and Isanlu communities to enhance security in the region.
On the delayed reconstruction of the Kabba–Egbe road, Karimi explained, “The Federal Ministry of Works is awaiting approval from the Bureau of Public Procurement to commence the project. I have personally contributed N3 billion—N2 billion from my constituency allowance and an additional N1 billion—to supplement the project’s funding and expedite its completion.”
He concluded by pledging continued lobbying for initiatives that would foster the development and progress of Kogi West, while reiterating his commitment to the success of President Tinubu and the APC in the 2027 elections.
