After a 15 minutes walkout following the award of a penalty to hosts Morocco, Senegal on Sunday won the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

The Teranga Lions of Senegal eventually defeated the Atlas Lions of Morocco by a lone goal scored by Pape Gueye.

The goal was scored after Brahim Diaz lost a penalty kick that led to an initial walkout by the Senegalese.

It took the intervention of Sadio Mane for the players to return to the pitch.

Diaz’s lame kick was saved easily by goalkeeper Edouard Mendy.
