After enduring a dry spell without a club, Emmanuel Dennis finally has a new home after joining Danish club Brøndby, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

Brøndby announced the deal on Thursday, noting that the player will remain with the club until the summer of 2028.

Dennis has been without a club since last summer after Nottingham Forest terminated his contract as part of their squad clear-out.

The Nigerian international was deemed surplus to requirements and did not feature in any of Forest’s pre-season games before his departure.

The 28-year-old has struggled for regular playing time over the past two seasons, but he now looks ready to put that behind him after impressing during training at his new club.

“Dennis was in the first week of the club’s training camp, and the offensive player impressed to a degree that left little doubt. That’s why he is now a Brøndby player,” the club said in a statement on their website.

“Emmanuel has shown us over the past week with all the clarity we could wish for, that he possesses some skills that can give us more opportunities offensively, and that you don’t necessarily see every day in the Superliga. He has speed and breakthrough power, and he has shown that he is a threat in front of goal.”

At the same time, he brings valuable experience from a high international level,” Brøndby’s football director, Benjamin Schmedes, also said.

“Equally important is that Emmanuel has clearly expressed that he now wants to be at Brøndby, while also showing that he is ready to invest the effort it takes to succeed here. All of this combined means that we are getting a really exciting player.”

Dennis, who has played eight times for Nigeria, has previously featured for clubs such as Club Brugge, FC Köln and Watford.

“I am very happy to have signed with the club. I have seen video clips of the fans. They have a lot of energy, and so do I. I really appreciate the club giving me this opportunity and I am very excited to get started. Hopefully, we will achieve great things together,” Dennis said.

“The first week with the boys was fantastic. We found chemistry really quickly. They welcomed me so well that it felt like we had known each other for years. I could feel the love right away, and that made it even more attractive to me. Everyone was so nice and helpful, and I can’t wait to play on the same team as them.”

According to the club, Dennis will wear the number 17 jersey.

The player is currently in England to complete his residence and work permit process and will join Brøndby IF once the paperwork is approved. The club said the process is expected to run into February.
