National Record publisher loses father, Elder Abah Onah |

Journalist and Publisher of National Record, Comrade Iduh L. Onah, has lost his father, Elder Abah Lazarus Onah.

According to a statement, Elder Onah died in the early hours of Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at an estimated age of 83 years.

He hails from Ogene in Amejo Ward, Edumoga District of Okpokwu LGA of Benue State, North Central Nigeria.

A statement by the family, sign by Theresa Onyikwu Abah, the deceased’s granddaughter who is a lawyer, said the octogenarian passed on from diabetes-related illness.

A devout Catholic and member of the Catholic Men Organisation (CMO) as well as the Holy Family, Elder Onah was widowed in 2012 when he lost his lifelong partner, Onyikwu Theresa Onah, vowing not to remarry as he was never going to get used to another woman.

Details regarding the final burial rites will be announced in due time, the statement added.
