Danish Embassy awards fully funded Master’s scholarship to NAFDAC staff

The Embassy of Denmark in Nigeria has announced that Iyadunni Akinlabi, a staff member of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, has been awarded a fully funded scholarship by the Danida Fellowship Centre to pursue a Master’s degree in Food Technology at Danmarks Tekniske Universitet, Denmark.

The announcement, shared on Facebook on Monday, described the achievement as a testament to the strength of Denmark-Nigeria Strategic Sector Cooperation (SSC), which aims to advance critical sectors such as agriculture and food safety.

The statement said, “We are thrilled to announce that Iyadunni Akinlabi, a staff member of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), has been awarded a fully funded scholarship by the Danida Fellowship Centre to pursue an M.Sc in Food Technology at Danmarks Tekniske Universitet (DTU) in Denmark.

“This achievement is a testament to the strength of our Strategic Sector Cooperation (SSC) with Nigeria, where we work hand-in-hand with partners like NAFDAC to advance critical sectors including agriculture and food safety.

The statement added that the M.Sc programme will equip Akinlabi with modern knowledge of food production technologies and systems for ensuring safe and healthy food, aligning with the joint commitment to strengthen Nigeria’s food value chains, including milk production and agribusiness.

“The M.Sc programme in Food Technology will equip Iyadunni with cutting-edge knowledge in modern food production technologies and systems for ensuring healthy, safe food. These skills directly align with our shared commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s food value chains, particularly in areas like milk production and agribusiness.”
