The Kogi State Police Command has called on heads of federal agencies in the state to strengthen cooperation, particularly in the area of intelligence sharing, to sustain ongoing efforts to combat crime.

This was contained in a statement issued in the early hours of Tuesday by the Command’s spokesperson, ASP Saliu Oyiza Afusat, who said the Commissioner of Police, CP Naziru Bello Kankarofi, made the call on Monday while receiving members of the Association of Federal Agencies, Kogi State Chapter, during a courtesy visit to the Command Headquarters in Lokoja.

According to Afusat, the Commissioner, in his welcome address, stressed the importance of synergy among federal agencies, noting that effective collaboration, intelligence sharing, and mutual support are critical to addressing emerging security challenges.

He was quoted as saying that “No single agency can operate in isolation in the collective responsibility of safeguarding lives, property, and critical government assets.”

The Commissioner of Police further assured the Association of the Command’s commitment to professionalism, proactive policing, and continuous engagement with sister agencies to ensure a safe and secure environment for public service delivery and socio-economic activities across the state.

“The Kogi State Police Command, under the leadership of CP Naziru Bello Kankarofi, psc, mni, remains resolute in fostering strong inter-agency partnerships, enhancing operational coordination, and promoting a united front in the pursuit of peace, stability, and security across Kogi State,” Afusat said.

The Association, however, commended the Command for its sustained efforts in combating crime across the state and reaffirmed its readiness to support initiatives aimed at strengthening security and inter-agency cooperation among federal institutions operating in Kogi State.
