Tottenham Hotspur have begun the search for a new head coach following the dismissal of Thomas Frank after just eight months in charge.

The club is expected to appoint either an interim manager or a permanent successor for the remainder of the 2025–26 season.

Attention has quickly turned to a crowded managerial market.

Roberto De Zerbi is among the leading immediate options.

The Italian became a free agent on February 11, 2026, after leaving Marseille by mutual consent.

His availability makes him a strong contender for a swift appointment.

Xabi Alonso is another high-profile name under consideration.

He has been unattached since leaving Real Madrid by mutual agreement in January 2026.

While admired by Tottenham’s hierarchy, reports suggest his long-term preference may be a future move to Liverpool.

Xavi Hernandez is also available after leaving Barcelona at the end of the 2023/24 season.

He has publicly stated he will “surely return to coaching” and has expressed a strong desire to manage in the Premier League.

Zinedine Zidane remains the most high-profile free agent in world football.

Though out of management since 2021, he recently confirmed he will “surely return to coaching” soon.

Enzo Maresca, available after his stint at Chelsea earlier this year, is also being monitored, while former Porto manager Sérgio Conceição is unattached and continues to attract interest across Europe.

Marco Silva presents another option. The Fulham boss has not signed beyond this season and is viewed as a manager capable of imposing immediate discipline.

Tottenham could opt for a temporary solution and revisit the market after the 2026 World Cup, when several elite contracts expire.
