FIFA defer decision in Nigeria, DR Congo case |

The Federation of International Football Federation has deferred its decision until Tuesday, February 17, 2026 in the petition of Nigeria against DR Congo over qualification of the 2026 World Cup.

According to available information as at press time on Monday, other decisions would also be made public the same day.

FIFA Executive Council members are expected to give their verdict on the Nigeria versus DR Congo face-off and others tomorrow.

Nigeria had petitioned FIFA accusing DR Congo of fielding ineligible players for the Africa World Cup Playoff finals, which the Super Eagles lost.

DR Congo had maintained that the players were eligible for the match as they were cleared by the rules of the world football governing body.
