Governor of Zamfara State, Dauda Lawal, has approved the immediate payment of February salaries and pensions ahead of the forthcoming Ramadan, directing the State Accountant General to release the funds without delay.

The approval was disclosed in a statement signed on Monday by the Commissioner for Information and Culture, Mahmud Dantawasa.

According to the statement, “His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Zamfara State, Dauda Lawal, has directed the State Accountant General to immediately release the February salary to all civil servants across the state.”

It added that the directive “is aimed at allowing workers and retirees to make adequate preparations and comfortably commence the holy month of Ramadan.”

The governor called on civil servants, pensioners and the Muslim Ummah to take advantage of the sacred period to pray for the state, urging them to “pray fervently for lasting peace, unity, and stability in Zamfara State.”

He emphasised the need for continued prayers toward addressing the security challenges confronting the state, as well as for “sustained economic growth and development.”

Governor Lawal also reaffirmed “his administration’s commitment to the welfare of workers and retirees, as well as the overall progress of the state,” assuring that their well-being remains a priority.

The statement further conveyed the governor’s goodwill message, wishing “all Muslims in Zamfara State and beyond a peaceful and spiritually rewarding Ramadan.”
