
Caleb University, Imota, held its 15th Convocation Ceremony on Wednesday, graduating 1,924 students, including 1,625 undergraduates, 299 postgraduate students, and 22 doctoral candidates.
According to a statement on Thursday by the Information, Media and Publication Specialist of the institution, Olawale Adekoya, among the undergraduates, 96 earned First-Class honours, 719 received Second Class Upper Division, 719 Second Class Lower Division, and 82 Third Class degrees.
In the postgraduate category, 46 distinctions, 143 merits, and 88 pass grades were recorded.
Vice-Chancellor Prof Olalekan Asikhia described the event as “a defining chapter in Caleb’s unstoppable ascent in Nigeria’s higher education ecosystem.”
He also stated that the university aims to “produce graduates who are not just certificate holders but solution providers, innovators and nation-builders.”
Prof Asikhia highlighted that since June 2025, his administration has focused on academic excellence, research and innovation, entrepreneurship, and environmental responsibility.
He noted that the 2025 Employability Fair resulted in several students securing internships and job placements and that fresh student enrollment for the 2025/2026 session reached 3,616.
“Under his leadership, the University has recorded significant milestones, including the successful hosting of the 2025 Employability Fair themed “Preparing Graduates for the World of Work,” where several students secured internship and job offers. Fresh student enrollment for the 2025/2026 academic session reached an impressive 3,616 as of November 30, 2025, supported by a nationwide marketing expansion across all six geopolitical zones,” the statement noted.
The ceremony included the conferment of an honorary PhD on wife of Pastor Enoch Adeboye of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor (Mrs) Foluke Adeboye, fondly called “Mummy G.O.”
“Loved globally as a role model, educationist, accomplished administrator and moral compass to millions, Mama Adeboye is renowned as a pillar of strength, a nurturing mother to generations, and a woman whose quiet resilience has helped shape one of the largest Christian movements in the world,” the statement read.
She was described in tributes as “a matriarch of grace and discipline, a guardian of values, and a timeless symbol of dignity.”
General Overseer of the Foursquare Gospel Church in Nigeria and Convocation Lecturer, Rev Sam Aboyeji, addressed the graduating students.
He urged them to “carry their faith boldly into boardrooms, laboratories, courtrooms and corridors of power. He reminded them that excellence without character is hollow, but excellence rooted in godliness transforms nations.”
Registrar Mr Mayokun Olumeru said the graduates were “men and women refined by knowledge, character and faith, ready to shape society and redefine possibilities.”
The ceremony was attended by Deputy Vice Chancellors Prof Sunday Adewale and Prof Adesola Ajayi, members of the Senate, Deans, the Governing Council, and the Board of Trustees.
