Author and gospirational singer Anietie Bature has released a new single titled Afo Amanam, a soulful expression of gratitude inspired by what she describes as God’s sustaining grace through life’s most difficult seasons.
The song, whose title translates to “You’ve Done It” in Ibibio, reflects on overcoming uncertainty, recognising divine providence and giving thanks for redemption, protection and provision. Drawing from deeply personal experiences, Bature says the track was shaped by moments of loss, doubt and resilience — including the death of her father, her children’s health challenges and periods of career uncertainty.
Speaking about the inspiration behind the single, Bature recalled how faith carried her through seasons that seemed beyond her means.

“From university I had a scholarship; in my master’s I had a scholarship. If you were to go with how much my family had, I had no business doing a master’s especially outside the country. But God had mercy,” she said.
Blending folk, gospel and soul, Afo Amanam is acoustic-driven, built on raw, organic instrumentation including acoustic guitar, pedal steel and subtle jazz influences. The arrangement supports intimate, reflective vocals that anchor the song’s message of gratitude.
The single was produced by Ugbesia Itua Fortune and features backing vocals from members of Bature’s band. She also acknowledged the support of her husband, Kingsley Bature, whom she described as her “biggest cheerleader.”
Afo Amanam is now available on major streaming platforms including Spotify, Apple Music and Boomplay, as well as on her YouTube channel.
