Nigerian business and technology scholar Arome Ibrahim has secured the prestigious European Union Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) PhD Fellowship under the DREAM+PLAN Doctoral Programme to conduct novel research on innovating for regenerative futures at LUT University in Finland.

The Marie Skłodowska-Curie fellowship is the EU’s flagship funding scheme for doctoral and postdoctoral training, supporting researchers through international mobility, collaborative projects and career development. It is regarded as one of Europe’s most competitive research awards.

Arome’s doctoral work will focus on technology entrepreneurship and regenerative business models.

He was previously awarded the Erasmus Mundus Master’s scholarship in Impact Entrepreneurship, studying at leading business schools in Croatia, Lithuania and Belgium.

Outside academia, Arome is known for his ecosystem impact in virtual and augmented reality development across Africa and Europe. He is Co-Founder and Lead Immersive Technologist at Experis Immersive, a Nigerian VR and AR consulting agency. He has also worked with a Netherlands-based no-code XR and AI platform, helping to expand its presence in Africa and supporting efforts that secured multi-million-euro investment.

His contributions have earned international recognition, including a place among the Global Top 50 Voices in VR, AR and 3D, alongside several innovation and impact awards in Africa and Europe.

Arome said the fellowship provides an opportunity to contribute new perspectives to global research and to demonstrate how emerging technologies can support systemic based ecological impact for businesses seeking to contribute towards a regenerative economy.
