From hairstylist and makeup artist to fashion designer, Chinze Benson, founder and CEO of House of Benson, is one of Nigeria’s young entrepreneurs making the country proud with his creativity and commitment to client satisfaction. Over the years, he has worked with numerous top celebrities, including Chika Ike, Ifunanya Igwe, Lydia Lawrence Nze, Destiny Etiko, Adaeze Eluke, Yvonne Jegede, Eve Esin, Somadina Adinma, Alex Cross, and Stan Nze.

Although he studied Chemical Engineering, Benson developed a strong interest in the fashion and beauty industry, with a focus on creating striking looks and stylish designs. His work combines the perfect hairstyle, flawless makeup, and unique fashion pieces that are both meaningful and expressive.

The Enugu State–born cosmetologist and fashion designer, who has a deep passion for creativity, explained how he started his brand. “I officially started my beauty brand, House of Benson, in 2019. It was something I had been passionate about for a long time. After gaining experience in hairstyling, makeup, clothing, microblading, and modelling, I felt it was the right moment to express my creativity through cosmetology,” he said.

On what sets his brand apart, Benson explained that his studio prioritises creativity, personalisation, and quality service.
“What makes House of Benson different from others in Nigeria is our approach. We focus on understanding each client’s unique style and bringing out the best version of them through hairstyling, makeup, and fashion,” he said.

He also revealed that his business now runs an academy where aspiring professionals are trained and issued certificates on completion. “I also have an academy where people receive professional training and certification. This allows me to create complete looks that seamlessly blend hair, makeup, and style. We prioritise professionalism, attention to detail, and ensuring every client feels confident and comfortable.”

Having built a career that spans modelling, fashion, and styling, Benson said the different aspects of his work complement each other. Commenting on the style his brand promotes, he added, “Currently, my brand promotes a style that combines modern elegance with cultural inspiration. This has become my signature. I focus on hairstyles and designs that are versatile, stylish, and empowering, allowing people to express themselves confidently through fashion.”
On managing his multiple creative roles, Benson noted that organisation and passion are key. “Balancing my work as a fashion designer with hairstyling and makeup artistry comes down to organisation, planning, and passion. Each skill complements the others—hairstyling and makeup help me create complete looks that enhance my fashion designs, while fashion design inspires new styles for hair and makeup.”

He explained that careful scheduling and a commitment to continuous learning help him maintain high standards. “Having multiple skills allows me to provide a holistic creative experience for my clients, making every look cohesive, polished, and unique,” he said.
Looking ahead, Benson aims to grow House of Benson into a leading name in Nigeria’s fashion and beauty industry. “I want to expand our reach and build a community that celebrates fashion and beauty. My goal is to introduce our designs to a wider audience, both locally and internationally, while continuing to provide personalised and unique experiences for every client,” he added.
