The son of the late Ibadan strong politician in the First and Second Republic, Busari Adelakun, popularly called Eruobodo, Kunle Busari, has declared his ambition for the governorship race under the All Progressives Congress in Oyo State come 2027.
He made this declaration at Methodist Primary School, Oke-Adu, Agodi-Gate in Ibadan North Local Government Area of the state, on Thursday.
Busari explained that the APC has all that it takes to lead the state aright in 2027.
The PUNCH reports that Busari Adelakun was a Nigerian politician from the Ejioku area of Ibadan.
He was affiliated with the Action Group, Unity Party of Nigeria and later National Party of Nigeria during the First and Second Republic, respectively.
Adelakun was an important figure in the turbulent politics of the city of Ibadan then.
He was a cocoa farmer from Ibadan, and he inherited his father’s farm upon the latter’s death.
Speaking during his declaration as a governorship aspirant under the APC, Kunle Adelakun described his ambition as a divinely inspired mission, declaring that the project is timely and guided by a clear vision for the future of the
He added that his plan is built on what he called “Renewed Hope and Vision,” aimed at delivering a better life for residents of the state if given the opportunity.
Adelakun said, “My administration, if elected, will focus on putting the needs of the people first in all policies and programmes. My agenda is anchored on People-Oriented Development, a strategy designed to ensure that government decisions directly improve the daily lives of citizens.
“By May 29, 2027, my administration will prioritise key sectors including education, healthcare, agriculture, security, economic growth, and social welfare. My goal is to make essential services more accessible and improve the overall standard of living across the state.”
He further assured all that special attention would be given to youths, women, and vulnerable groups.
“Plans are in place to create job opportunities through skills acquisition programmes, financial support, and initiatives that will help residents become self-reliant in their chosen careers and businesses,” he said.
He added that his vision is to ensure that every citizen enjoys the true benefits of democracy through improved living conditions and inclusive development.
“The people of the state deserve nothing less than genuine development, integrity in leadership, and visionary governance that honours the economic development of our dear state. This state is the peace setter, and together, we return it to its prime position.
“My administration will restore dignity, security and respect across all sectors, including state security, food security and respect for the dignity of labour,” he promised.
