Zedcrest Group has announced the appointment of Ms. Simbiat Bada as Managing Director of its stockbroking arm, Zedcrest Securities. The appointment follows the company’s 2024 acquisition of RMB Nigeria Stockbrokers and is subject to approval by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
Mr. Adedayo Amzat, CFA, Group Managing Director of Zedcrest, said the appointment reflects the company’s commitment to expanding its securities trading operations. “Bada’s appointment reflects Zedcrest’s focus on deepening expertise in equities trading and wealth creation opportunities for our clients,” he stated at a media briefing at the company’s Lagos head office.
Mr. Babatunde Sanda, FCA, Chairman of Zedcrest’s Board, expressed confidence in Bada’s leadership, noting that her experience would be instrumental in unlocking new opportunities and strengthening the company’s position in the equities market.
Ms. Bada is a certified investment professional with nearly a decade of experience in securities trading, asset management, and business development. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the American University of Nigeria, Yola, and a master’s degree in Economics from the University of Lagos. She is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (CIS) and a qualified Chartered Accountant (ICAN).
Before joining Zedcrest Securities, Ms. Bada held key roles at Vetiva Securities and WSTC Financial Services Limited, where she worked in trading, operations, and wealth management.
Following the acquisition of RMB Nigeria Stockbrokers, Zedcrest rebranded the company as Zedcrest Securities. The move expanded the group’s presence in the equities market and brought the stockbroking operations under its management.
