United Kingdom-based Afrobeats and Amapiano artiste sucrepapito, born as Chukwuebuka Kamen, has released a new single titled “Homebase,” as he continues to expand his presence in the UK’s Afro-fusion scene.
Originally from Anambra State but raised in Enugu and Lagos, the singer first gained attention after winning the Global Communications “Rock n Rule” competition in 2010. His sound blends Afrobeats melodies with Amapiano influences, reflecting both his roots and the city’s multicultural music landscape.
According to him, Homebase explores themes of identity, lifestyle, and creative grounding, “The track represents where I’m rooted — creatively and personally. It’s about energy, growth, and building something real,” he said.
Beyond music, Sucrepapito is involved with Resonance FM, a London radio station, and runs the “Afrobeats vs Amapiano Verdict (AAV Show),” a platform that ranks and debates leading African music genres.
Following the release of Homebase, he is set to host a curated listening experience in London, bringing together DJs, tastemakers, and supporters to engage directly with his music.
Homebase is currently available on major streaming platforms.
