The Governor of Benue State, Rev.Fr. Hyacinth Alia, has appointed Afrobeats legend, Innocent Idibia popularly known as 2Baba as his Technical Adviser on Entertainment and Community Outreach.

Alia announced the appointment at an event whose video has now gone viral.

The governor appreciated the singer for supporting his administration, noting that he has the capacity to do more.

Alia said, “On behalf of the Benue State Government and our very good people, we want to give you some more responsibility plus the ones you have been doing because you have the capacity to do some more and help us chart a way forward to improve other people’s lives and to gain more from your wisdom and advise as well.

“So, I’m pleased to announce that we will make you a technical adviser to the Governor on entertainment and community outreach.”

2Baba, 49, is of Idoma descent from Benue State, although he was born in Jos, Plateau State.

He broke into the Nigerian music scene as a member of the Plantashun Boiz music group in the late ’90s.

He subsequently went solo, releasing his critically-acclaimed debut solo album, Face 2 Face in 2004.
