Nollywood star Uzor Arukwe has disclosed that he was excited when he heard rumours about him being gay.
Arukwe, who spoke on his sexuality during an appearance on the ‘Unfiltered and Extra Spicy’ show, refuted the reports, saying he only has gay friends.
He added that the rumours got him excited because he heard that such claims propel the individual into a higher level of celebrity status.
“The worst rumour I have ever heard about myself was that I’m gay. I was shocked to my bones, but at the same time, I was excited because I heard that you will blow when people start saying those kinds of things about you, so I told myself, ‘this must be it.
“I have a lot of gay friends, and I love them. They are my friends, so I know their sexuality, and I love them to death. I have nothing against them whatsoever.
“But I’m not gay, and I won’t agree to what I am not. For me, let God be the judge. If it is my sexuality, I would own it. I will be one of the hottest around,” Arukwe stated.
