Babcock University,Ilishan-Remo,Ogun state,  has once again demonstrated its dominance in legal education as nine of its law graduates earned First Class Honours in the November 2024 Bar Part II Final Examination of the Nigerian Law School.

PLATFORM TIMES reports that the results, recently released by the Council of Legal Education, mark another milestone for the private institution, reinforcing its legacy of academic excellence.

Early, unconfirmed reports also suggest that one of the nine graduates may emerge as the third overall best candidate nationally—an achievement that would further cement Babcock’s growing reputation for producing legal elite.

“This continued success is a reflection of our commitment to academic excellence and our goal of nurturing legal professionals who will lead with integrity, competence, and courage,” said Prof. Dorcas Odunaike, Dean of the School of Law and Security Studies.

Babcock University’s performance at the Nigerian Law School has remained consistently impressive over the years. In 2013, Oladeinbo Gilbert was named Best Student in Law in Practice.

Three years later, in 2016, two graduates earned First Class Honours, including Adonu Geoffrey who emerged as Best Overall Male Student and second-best overall nationwide.

The trend continued in 2017 and 2019, with the latter year witnessing ten First Class graduates. Among them, Abiru Mayowa stood out as the Overall Best Student and swept 13 academic prizes.

The class of 2022 produced six First Class honourees, while the 2023 cohort recorded the university’s highest achievement to date, with twenty graduates earning First Class distinctions.

That year, Echebiri Mary-Ann Goodness took the 3rd Prize in Civil Litigation, and Labisi Oluwatamiloreayo Elizabeth was named 3rd Best Student in Professional Ethics.
