Two decades after she got into gospel music with the release of two popular albums, Joy Amarachi, an evangelist, is still waxing strong. She recently released her new song titled, ‘God of the Prophet’ which has garnered massive streaming on music platforms.
With the support of her husband, who is a veteran in gospel music, Amarachi started her music journey in 2006, when her first song “Akarakam,” was released. But it was the song “Favour Room” that announced her to gospel music lovers.
The singer also released three songs recently. One of the songs is “See How Beautiful Jesus Can Be,” which portrays the whole essence of Christ, depicted by his love and sacrificial death to redeem humanity from eternal condemnation.
Commenting on the songs, the mother of three said: “When you listen to the song, you will find that I poured out my heart after several real-time encounters.”
In the second song “Onye dika Chi” Amarachi worships and praises the name of God. Gushing about it, she told Sunday Sun: “God is full of love and forever forgiving regardless of how sinful or dark our hearts might be. He is a force we have not seen but believe in. And miracles abound that are a testament to His graciousness. I have had so many revelations of names to call him, and these names are innumerable and inexhaustible. In man’s eyes you may not be enough or qualified but with God you’re a winner. That is why I brought out time in that song to shower him with praise from my little knowledge.”
She added: “My third song is “God of the prophets.” We have preachers, prophets, pastors, apostles and others but everyone works according to the ordination of God, so that everything aligns with his plans. Many people call me, asking how I came about the song and I always tell them it was a revelation by God. It is not my doing. I get songs from dreams, and from hearing voices as well as during prayers. When you listen to the song, you would testify because these are spiritual and powerful songs that will reveal more of who God is and it is something everyone should listen to.”
When asked to mention her top five songs, Amarachi said: “My first song “Akarakam” (which means my destiny) was followed by “Favour Room” – the one that announced me to my target audience. That song was divine. It embodied the true struggles of childbirth and why the expression labour room should be exchanged with favour room. When I sang the song, I was pregnant with my first child and it was a good inspiration for women all over the world because no woman deserves to lose her life or her child during childbirth. So this was the song that brought me to limelight in 2006. The third song is “Jesus My Comforter” which touched lives. Another is the one I called “Favour Room Special and Favour Room Vol. 2.” Like I mentioned earlier, there are many but I would stick to these few for now.”
