A significant moment for international entertainment, with a strong Nigerian flavour, is set to unfold on August 9, 2025, as the Distinguished Creative Empowerment Merit (D’CEM) Awards take centre stage in Atlanta, Georgia.

The highly anticipated event promises an evening of unity, artistry, and global celebration, with a particular spotlight on African talent and leadership.

Founded in 2009 by Debby Classique Entertainment Magazine, the D’CEM Awards have grown into a globally recognised institution dedicated to honouring exceptional individuals across diverse industries.

This year’s celebration will shine a powerful spotlight on individuals whose influence transcends borders, languages, and genres, spanning film, television, music, and humanitarian leadership.

Adding a vibrant Nigerian touch to the night’s entertainment line-up, stars like WizBoyy and Mr. RAW are confirmed to deliver electrifying performances. They will be joined by acclaimed American entertainers, promising a musical experience that fuses rhythm, soul, and truly global soundscapes.

Laughter will also take centre stage, with Nigeria’s iconic comedian, Mr Patrick, set to deliver a headline performance. He will be joined by a surprise guest comedian from the U.S., guaranteeing a comedic fusion that will captivate and delight the audience.

A major highlight of this year’s event is the official unveiling of the D’CEM Governing Council Executive Members, a body poised to steer the awards into its next phase of global impact.

Leading the council as President is the legendary Nigerian actress Clarion Chukwurah, a trailblazer in African cinema and a revered figure across the continent. She is joined by fellow Nigerian icon Mr. RAW, the acclaimed musician and cultural Influencer, who will serve as Vice President.

The council further boasts of a formidable lineup of respected figures, including Funsho Adeolu, Chuks Omalicha, Dr. Queen Aftan and Marta Evans.
