Veteran Nollywood actress, Binta Ayo Mogaji has advised ladies still unmarried and childless at 40 not to hesitate to birth a child with any willing man.
Mogaji expressed the controversial stance as a guest on Oyinmomo TV YouTube channel.
The interview, which was conducted late 2024, recently resurfaced on social media.
Speaking in Yoruba, Mogaji said, “If you are 40 and unmarried, and you see a man that likes and can impregnate you, get pregnant.
“That is, if you desire to have a child and you can train the child, let nothing stop you.”
The actress noted that some ladies are fortunate to become grandmothers by 45.
According to her, unmarried and childless 40-plus ladies desirous of the experience of motherhood should also act fast.
“Some ladies by 45 or 50 have become grannies.
“You are still waiting to get married. When will you get married? When will you give birth? When will you also become a grandmother in your lifetime?” she asked.
The actress added, “Once it gets to that stage, I advise that if you find someone with whom you have mutual feelings and you agree on birthing a child, go ahead.”
In July 2024, Mogaji disclosed that she left her 13-year marriage to retired footballer, Victor Ayodele Oduleye, over alleged abuse.
The actress, 61, previously had a 20-year-old son for her colleague, actor Jibola Dabo, whom she described as her boyfriend, after which she got married to Oduleye in 2006.
