Pugilist-turned-cleric, Peter Oboh, has pleaded with Ukraine’sPresident Volodymyr Zelensky to give peace a chance as world leaders head for the US-Russia summit in Alaska on August 25.
To him, the summit is an opportunity for both leaders in the eye of the storm to find a common ground for peace.
According to the former Commonwealth/British light-boxing champion, “The most important thing is for peace to reign. Each individual should be willing to lose something so that they can gain something, which is peace. The truth is making peace is like having only a part of the benefits. One, Zelensky does not have enough weapons to overcome Russia, and he doesn’t have enough manpower as well.
“The Western friends of Ukraine are not willing to lose any of their citizens because of the conflict. So, President Zelensky should stop being emotional and learn from his Western friends who wouldn’t put the lives of their citizens into unnecessary risk. However, with Zelensky, there is a way out from this war, which President Trump has said shouldn’t have happened if he was in power at that time. Zelensky must understand that to win peace, you must lose something.”
