Naija Best Chefs reality show, titled, The Superstar Edition, is set to return to the screens for the second season.

Speaking at the unveiling of the new show, CEO of D’Boss TV, Agnes Joy Imhomoh, described the show not just as entertainment, but as a movement with far-reaching impact.

“This is more than a show. It is a movement, one designed to discover, empower, and launch the next generation of culinary leaders,” Imhomoh said.

Naija Best Chefs seeks to nurture talent across the food industry spectrum from home cooks and food bloggers to aspiring chefs and culinary entrepreneurs. By mentoring participants, the initiative aims to bridge the skill gap in Nigeria’s hospitality industry, while also exporting authentic African food stories to international audiences.

“This season promises to be bigger, better, and more exciting,” she said, adding  “With over 150 African recipes, innovative culinary challenges, celebrity collaborations, and cultural showcases, Naija Best Chefs Season Two will not only entertain but also preserve and modernize Africa’s rich culinary heritage.”

She disclosed that The Superstar Edition will kick-off in October 2025. Episodes will be broadcast across multiple terrestrial stations and will be streamed live on social media, ensuring access to millions of viewers in Africa and beyond.

“One of the biggest attractions will be the Naija Best Culinary Awards and Grand Finale, where top contestants will battle for glory. The winner is set to walk away with a prize package worth ₦20 million, brand ambassadorship opportunities, and the honour of being recognized as Nigeria’s culinary pride. The first and second runners-up will also receive attractive rewards.

Imhomoh emphasized that the programme’s true value lies beyond the prizes. “Every participant will walk away with skills, mentorship, and opportunities that will shape their careers and inspire a new generation,” she noted.

The choice of Federal Palace Hotel & Casino as host venue further elevated the unveiling’s significance. Executive Chef Wayne Kingsley, who delivered an address on behalf of the hotel, described the partnership as “a movement that positions Nigeria as a true culinary destination.”

He spoke further: “At the Federal Palace, we believe hospitality is not only about rooms and tables, but about creating experiences that leave lasting memories. By joining forces with Naija Best Chefs, we are affirming that chefs are cultural ambassadors, creators of joy, and custodians of heritage.”

He added that The Shining Stars Season will introduce a dynamic exchange between international culinary experts and Nigeria’s brightest emerging chefs, combining tradition with innovation.

“Our goal is to elevate Nigerian hospitality to meet and exceed global expectations, showcase the brilliance of our local chefs alongside international masters, and inspire the next generation to see culinary arts as a career of purpose and occasion to extend invitations to sponsors, investors, and industry leaders. By supporting the programme, they noted, stakeholders would be helping to elevate Nigerian cuisine to its rightful global status, while also investing in the professional growth of the country’s culinary talents.
