Nigerian singer and songwriter Seyi Shay has harped on the significance of having a father figure in bringing up the girlchild.

During a recent appearance on an episode of The Honest Bunch podcast, the ‘Right Now’ crooner asserted that most women who have a father figure in their lives are more stable and have better values than those who don’t.

According to her, the narrative that “men are not important” is only a decoy to create more broken homes.

“Most women who have a father figure in their lives are generally more stable. They had a lot more access to good education and good morals growing up than the ones that don’t.

“Also, there is a bar when they want to get married or when they choose male friends.

“All these narratives of men are not important is bullshit because that’s just an agenda for more divisions in our homes so that we can churn out more broken souls and more lost females and males,” Seyi Shay said.
