Burna Boy named Spotify’s Top Afrobeats Artist of the Year

Spotify, the streaming giant, has announced its list of 2025’s Top Afrobeats Artists.

The list is completely made up of Nigerians, with Burna Boy at number one.

Rema was ranked second on the platform, with Wizkid coming in third.

Asake and Ayra Starr, Roc Nation’s latest signee, round out the top five.

Davido, commonly considered as one of the “Afrobeats Big 3” alongside Wizkid and Burna Boy, was glaringly absent from the list.

Spotify also produced a list of the nations that consumed the most Afrobeats this year.

The United States led the list, followed by Brazil, France, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Nigeria.
