It has rapidly evolved into the most daring form of artistic expression with people discovering it’s potential in many amazing ways. Makeup is no longer for just making ladies look pretty but has become a medium for telling stories.
On social media platforms, content creators are using their skills to bring their imaginations to life with colourful pigments, foundations, contact lenses and other accessories. Many artists deliberately use elements of shock to create illustrations of scares or accidents. Others create 3D-like effects and fantastical characters, pushing the boundaries of what makeup can achieve. This little experiment has raised the bar, transforming makeup from a beauty standard into a high end artistry.
This new chapter in makeup’s evolution is an eye opener. More than a beauty practice, makeup has become a form of art that can bring any character in a story to life. Beauty today is not about appearance, it is now about expression, performance and storytelling.
