Awujale Prince, Oladapo Osunsanya, sets standards for stool |

One of the Awujale royal sons, Prince Oladapo Oluwatosin Ayodele Osunsanya, has advocated that the throne must continue to stand as a beacon of cultural pride, economic strength, and modern governance among others as standards for the stool.

Prince Osunsanya’s advocacy was contained in a news release that was made available to The Eagle Online on Friday.

The Prince, while speaking on his vision, stressed the need to strengthen the Awujale institution as a platform where culture, economy, governance, and relevance of Ijebuland can be deliberately advanced. 

“I am committed to advancing the noble aspirations of the Ijebu people, including our long-standing quest for a State of our own,” he stated.

The Prince is of the Tunwase-Oduba Royal Family, specifically through the Fusenguwa Ruling House, one of the officially recognised ruling houses of Ijebuland and a direct descendant of Awujale Adesimbo Tunwase. 

He is among the royal sons whose names continue to feature prominently in the ongoing discussions surrounding the Awujale stool.

At 51, Prince Osunsanya stands as a distinguished son of Ijebu Ode, combining noble heritage with sustained civic devotion. 

His active membership in Egbe Bobamayegun Okunrin Asiwaju Akile Ijebu, alongside consistent participation through his Regberegbe Age Group at the annual Ojude Oba festival, reflects unwavering commitment rather than ceremonial attachment.

His educational path reflects discipline and global exposure. 

Educated at the Nigerian Navy Secondary School, Ojo, Lagos, where he served as a Cadet, Prince Osunsanya later studied in the United States of America, earning a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Ohio State University, followed by a degree in Finance and an MBA from Regis University. 

This progression shaped a systems-oriented approach grounded in analytical rigour and institutional thinking.

With over 25 years of professional experience, Prince Osunsanya has distinguished himself across financial technology and capital markets. 

His career spans investment banking, founding and scaling of brokerage and trading technology platforms, co-creation of a global retail investing platform, and executive leadership of regulated wealth and capital markets businesses operating across all 50 states of the United States of America. 

His work across regulated finance, artificial intelligence, and blockchain reflects an ability to align innovation with governance and long-term execution.

Prince Osunsanya holds multiple senior regulatory licenses issued by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority. 

These include: Series 7 General Securities Representative, Series 24 General Securities Principal, Series 55 Equity Trader, Series 3 National Commodity Futures, and Series 63 Uniform Securities Agent State Law. 

Collectively, these credentials reflect supervisory authority, trading responsibility, and operational accountability within regulated capital markets.

He founded Credit Union WealthTech Connect, owns a major software development company based in Cape Verde, and established an early artificial intelligence focused data center initiative in Africa. 

He also co-founded Odudu-DAO to advance blockchain-based governance frameworks within the ECOWAS region and served as an adviser to Google Digital Skills for Africa, which has empowered millions of individuals and businesses across the continent.
