UNIOSUN postgraduate college gets new acting provost

The Vice-Chancellor of Osun State University, Professor Clement Adebooye, has approved the appointment of Professor Alamu Oguntola of the Department of Mechanical Engineering as the acting Provost of the Postgraduate College of the institution.

The appointment, which took effect on Monday, January 5, 2026, was part of the institution’s ongoing efforts to strengthen leadership and enhance academic excellence across its postgraduate programmes.

This was contained in a statement on Friday by the institution’s Public Relations Officer, Ademola Adesoji.

Adesoji said the don would bring his 26 years of academic experience and expertise in teaching, research, and university administration to the growth of the college.

The statement partly read, “The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Adebooye, congratulated Professor Alamu on his appointment, highlighting his exceptional academic credentials, administrative experience, and global research collaborations as assets that will enhance the strategic growth and academic reputation of UNIOSUN’s Postgraduate College.

“Professor Alamu’s appointment is expected to further consolidate the college’s commitment to academic excellence, rigorous research, and the production of highly skilled professionals capable of contributing meaningfully to national and global development.

“UNIOSUN extends its congratulations to Professor Oguntola Jelil Alamu and wishes him success in his new role as Acting Provost of the Postgraduate College.”
