Three Kebbi kidnap suspects nabbed by police

The Kebbi State Police Command has arrested three men allegedly linked to a kidnapping operation in Shanga Local Government Area.

The police also recovered locally made weapons in the process, according to the spokesperson of the police, Bashir Usman,

In a statement on Friday, Usman identified the suspects as Abubakar Muhammadu, Abdullahi Majo, and Ali Alhaji Jemu , were picked up at Bagudo Market after police acted on what they described as “credible intelligence.”

He said the trio had been connected to the abduction of a 55-year-old man from Bani Koso Village.

“Two locally made firearms, a cartridge and three machetes were recovered,” he stated.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Umar Mohammed Hadejia, has directed that the case be handled by the State Criminal Investigation Department in Birnin Kebbi. The suspects are to be charged to court after investigation.

The Command urged residents to report suspicious activities via its control room lines.

On Thursday, the Lagos State Police Command uncovered a den disguised as a shrine which was operated by suspected kidnappers in the Idimu area of the state.

The command also arrested 13 suspects in connection with the discovery.
