Ahead of the main award ceremony slated for May 9, 2026, Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) has unveiled nominees for its 12th edition.
While veteran actress, Joke Silva has been appointed as Head Judge, succeeding Femi Odugbemi, the 2026 edition will feature 32 categories comprising 18 jury-voted awards, 11 audience-voted categories, and three special recognition awards, including Lifetime Achievement and Trailblazer honours.
Two new categories, Best Indigenous Language Film (North Africa) and Best Indigenous Language Film (Central Africa), have also been introduced – as part of efforts to strengthen the awards’ pan-African representation.
