Nollywood actress Teniola Aladese has shared her candid views on dating in Lagos, describing the experience as chaotic and underwhelming.
Speaking on the I Said What I Said podcast, the actress revealed she is currently on a break from dating until May while offering blunt insights into her past experiences.
According to her, “the dating pool in Lagos is just a puddle. It’s always messy and far from ideal.”
Despite the criticism, Teniola clarified that she has not had particularly bad dates, explaining that she usually determines after the first meeting whether a relationship has any future.
“We may be flirting, but after that first date, you will never see me again. I avoid forcing connections that clearly won’t work. I just move on,” she said.
On relationships within the film industry, Teniola was unequivocal, stating that she could not date a fellow actor. While she may consider producers or directors, she ruled out actors completely.
“I don’t want to date an actor. I wouldn’t mind the upper echelons like producers, directors, but actors are a no for me.”
The actress further noted that she is not approached as frequently as many assume, as some men find her intimidating. However, she described herself as easygoing but unwilling to tolerate disrespect
