Nigerian changemaker, Ogundare Racheal Omosewa, has emerged as one of the recipients of Africa’s 100 Iconic Personalities Award for the work she is doing with her non-governmental organisation (NGO), the ADARA Initiative for Child Education.
Omosewa, on Friday at the Oriental Hotel in Lagos, was one of the changemakers, entrepreneurs, and leaders honoured with the Iconic Personalities of the Year 2026 Award, awarded by the Iconic International Holdings.
The event, themed ‘The Africa We Want: Accelerating Excellence For A Self-Reliant Continent’, was in partnership with Mayorkings Charity Foundation. It was described as a significant event in the global recognition of African leaders and innovators, celebrating excellence and honouring distinguished personalities from various industries across Africa and the Diaspora.
The ADARA Initiative’s boss was given the award for her work as a rising force in education and youth development, and for her growing influence and impact across Nigeria and beyond.
The nomination letter for the award to Omosewa, the organiser described her as a changemaker “who has made a significant contribution to the growth and development of the African continent.”
Omosewa, a human resources professional and education consultant, has championed causes, which support underserved children, while her platform, Brunch & Bloom Africa, continues to shape conversations around career growth, mindset, and leadership.
Her work stands out for its practical approach to development, bridging the gap between ambition and access, and helping individuals navigate pathways to success.
Reacting to the Iconic Personalities Award accorded her, Omosewa described the moment as both humbling and motivating, noting that it reflects the importance of consistent effort and purpose-driven work.
“This recognition is a reminder that impact is possible when passion meets purpose. The award inspires me to keep pushing boundaries and creating more opportunities for others,” she said.
The organisers of the award noted that Omosewa’s influence is steadily growing, particularly among young professionals and aspiring leaders who look to her platforms for guidance and direction.
The Chief Executive Officer, Iconic International Holdings, Tinotenda Michelle Chavundura, said the platform is evolving into a vehicle for amplifying Africa’s business narratives globally.
Chavundura added that beyond recognition, the initiative is structured to promote innovation, enterprise growth, and leadership influence at a time when African economies are seeking stronger intra-continental trade and foreign investment inflows.
The award event also featured a business and leadership summit, providing a platform for networking and collaboration among awardees and participants.
