Nollywood movie producer, Uchechi Okereke, has revealed the inspiration behind his new movie, The Cost of Love, which was released on YouTube via Global CrownTV yesterday.
The movie, which was inspired by a true-life story, tells the emotional journey of a young lady who gave everything for her family but was later rejected and betrayed by the same people he loved.
Speaking on the project, Okereke explained that the story reflects real-life situations many people can relate to, saying: “Love and loyalty are often taken for granted, and I wanted to bring that emotional reality to the screen.”
The producer also recounted some of the challenges he faced during production, noting that bringing out deep emotions from the cast and managing time on set were not easy. However, he commended his team for their dedication.
“Like every production, we had our challenges, but with a committed cast and crew, we were able to overcome them and deliver something powerful,” he added.
On the choice of actors, Okereke said he carefully selected performers he was familiar with, ensuring they could fully interpret their roles. The movie, which was directed by Diamond Kater Boshi, features actors like Miwa Olurunfemi, Victory Michael, Vivian Kaima, and Tyra Darlington.
“I chose them because they understand their craft and can deliver the emotions needed for this kind of story,” he said.
Regarding the message behind the movie, he stressed that actions always have consequences: “We should learn to appreciate those who genuinely love and sacrifice for us. At the same time, the evil we do will always come back to us.”
The Cost of Love is an emotional and engaging film that will keep viewers connected from start to finish.
Fans and lovers of Nollywood movies are already looking forward to what promises to be a touching and relatable story.
