Brazil and Chelsea forward, Estevao could miss the World Cup after suffering a hamstring injury which has ruled him out of the season.
Interim Chelsea manager, Calum McFarlane delivered the injury update for the 19-year-old winger on Friday but did not give a recovery timeline.
Estevao picked up a knock and was subbed off in the 16th minute of Chelsea’s 1-0 defeat to Manchester United at Stamford Bridge last week.
He missed the Blues’ 3-0 defeat away to Brighton.
“Estevao unfortunately won’t play for us this season because he is going to be out for a little bit of time. That’s really unfortunate, especially for someone so young and so talented.
“I am sure he is very hopeful he can make the World Cup, but I don’t know on that,” the interim boss said.
The 2026 World Cup holding in the United States, Canada and Mexico starts on June 11.
Barcelona and Spain wonderkid, Lamine Yamal is also doubtful for the tournament after suffering a similar injury.
