A Nigerian disc jockey (DJ), VDJ Mobi, is set to break a world record by targeting a Guinness World Record (GWR) for the longest marathon DJ concert livestream in a 72-hour event dubbed “Mobi’s Mixathon”.
In a statement to journalists in Abuja, the DJ said the livestream commenced on Tuesday and will run until Friday, 1 May 2026, on mixcloud.com/vdjmobi.
The statement noted that beyond the livestream, the opportunity will be used to raise global voices and support for the girl-child by providing menstrual education and free sanitary pads.
Meanwhile, the Executive Director of the FAB Treasure Foundation, Festus Abigail, told Daily Sun as a partner that the marathon DJ concert livestream will also serve as an opportunity to amplify the campaign for improved sanitary education for girls.
She highlighted the importance of girl-child transformation through education and access. “Menstruation is a natural part of life, and every girl deserves to experience it without shame or barriers. We have seen, firsthand, that providing menstrual health education alongside access to sanitary products empowers young girls to manage their periods with dignity and confidence.”
She appealed to Nigerians to rally round the world record-seeking DJ in his effort to, once again, put Nigeria on the global map. “We want Nigerians to join the live streaming, support the cause in any way they can, and particularly join in raising their voices for the welfare and well-being of the girl child.”
