The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Enoch Adeboye, has declared that Nigeria’s next president has already been ordained by God, stressing that the outcome of the 2027 election is beyond human control.
Adeboye made the remark on Saturday during a workers’ meeting held at the Redemption City along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
According to him, divine sovereignty ultimately determines leadership, noting that God had long settled who would govern the country.
“The one that will rule has been decided by God before we were born. He knows the end from the beginning,” he said.
The cleric added, “God is not going to sit in heaven scratching His mighty head, wondering who should rule Nigeria in 2027. It has been decided before the foundation of the world.”
Adeboye, however, urged Nigerians, particularly Christians, to remain focused on their spiritual responsibilities rather than be consumed by political anxieties.
“Keep on praying, winning souls, and let your fruits abide. Face your business,” he advised.
The revered preacher also addressed recent remarks by another cleric who described him, David Oyedepo, and William Kumuyi as “denominational fathers” rather than spiritual leaders for all Christians in Nigeria.
Reacting, Adeboye said he fully agreed with the position, affirming the distinct roles of church leaders within their respective ministries.
His comments come amid growing political activities and alignments ahead of the 2027 general elections, with stakeholders already positioning for the nation’s top office.
