For music icon, Ibhizugbe Osa aka Biza Blingza who is currently rocking the airwaves with his latest Extended Play (EP), Dutty O’Clock, artistes and women are intertwined and pivotal for the sustainability of the music industry.
According to the Gimmie Some Love crooner, he is not seeing women as liability but assets to be treasured because they patronise musicians more.
“Artistes always love women. We sing for women a lot because they are the ones that spend money on us. They buy our CDs; stream our songs. I don’t have any issue coping with women,” he said.
The Afrobeats hip-hop guru and songwriter, who has featured notable artistes like Cyrus Tha Virus, Papichino and Diamant-B, hinted on promoting three of his singles including Gimmie Some Love, Bulls, and Rah Rah.
Biza Blingza revealed his love for American rapper 50 Cent, whom he said has been one of his motivational forces, even though he always wanted to be himself.
“If the opportunity comes to collaborate with 50 Cent, I’ll grab it. I’ll even cry, roll on the floor for that. He’s my idol,” he stated.
The Manchester, UK-based Afrobeats artiste with roots in Benin City, Nigeria sees music as a spiritual course. Besides 50 Cent, he also derives inspirations from G-Unit and Cyrus tha Virus.
Describing himself as a light that illuminates the darkest path, Biza Blingza disclosed reasons behind his name. “I gave myself the name Biza Blingza because I believe I’m the light of the world. I believe I will shine bright and I think that’s a lot of things. That’s the main reason a lot of people are scared to be around me or give me the hand because they know I will always outshine them.
“So, I believe whatever I put my hand on, whenever I come, everybody will always notice me. So, I’m like a light to the world,”
The artiste, whose new EP dropped on April 10, blends his rich African heritage with contemporary Afrobeats, creating music that res¬onates with a global audience. He further advised the youths to abstain from drugs and stop emulating what they see some artistes do on the screen.
