Nigerian Christian filmmaker, Felix Bankole, has released his latest drama movie, The Legal Wife, a marriage-focused production aimed at addressing the growing challenges facing Christian families. The film premiered exclusively on Felix Bankole TV.
Produced by Vision Drama Missions Outreach International in collaboration with Light Ministries International, the film explores themes of marital conflict, betrayal, trust, forgiveness, and the emotional complications that arise when former relationships continue to affect present marriages.
Speaking during the premiere, Bankole said the project was inspired by concern over rising cases of divorce, separation, and family breakdown within the church and society at large.
“The Legal Wife hopes to bring peace and harmony to many homes under attack,” he said, adding: “The movie tells the story of three different families facing unique challenges, but with a message of hope and restoration rooted in biblical truth.”
The film follows three families navigating tension in their marriages, including betrayal, unresolved emotional wounds, and the influence of ex-partners. It raises difficult but relatable questions many couples struggle with privately, whether former partners should remain in contact, how trust can be rebuilt after betrayal, and how spouses can protect their relationships while remaining committed to their vows.
Bankole described the project as both entertainment and ministry, created to encourage open conversations in homes and churches around sensitive relationship issues often left unspoken.
The cast features Felix Bankole alongside Yemi Bankole, Kayode Babalola, Eme Ekeng, Bosede Akinbade, Great Ineh, Edith Okaide, Mary Onuegbu, Elizabeth Fabunmi and Olaide Olawoye, among others. Filming took place in both Nigeria and the United States, giving the production a broader cultural appeal.
Bankole, who leads Vision Drama Missions Outreach alongside his wife Yemi, is widely known for producing faith-based films that combine storytelling with Christian teachings. His body of work includes Displaced, Mission Impossible, Last Journey, Samari: The Batons of Life, I Hate Your Jesus, and the forthcoming The Wicked Generation, scheduled for theatrical release in October.
With more than 50 productions to his credit in over 20 languages, including French, Arabic, Twi, Spanish, and Portuguese, Bankole said The Legal Wife was created for audiences across cultures.
“There is family tussle and rumble everywhere in the world. This is a movie for all races,” he said.
