Rising Nigerian DJ, Jimmy Poska, has continued to cut a unique path for himself, amplifying African culture from his vibrant lounge, Poska Lounge, in the heart of Moscow.

Raised in the bustling streets of Lagos, Poska’s journey is a testament to passion and a dedication to sharing the sounds of his homeland with the world.

For the rising Disk Jockey, music has been a lifelong calling. “Music has always been my motivation since I was a little kid. I was born into the Isoko heritage of Delta State, Nigeria. My roots are firmly planted in African culture, but my aspirations have always extended far beyond.”

His relocation to Russia marked a pivotal moment. Embracing the challenge of a new environment, Poska set his sights on becoming the pre-eminent Afro DJ in the country. The establishment of Poska Lounge stands as a tangible symbol of this ambition, a thriving cultural epicenter where Afrobeat pulses through the city, captivating a diverse and enthusiastic audience.

With years of experience in the music industry, Poska attributes his staying power to an unwavering love for playing music as DJ and the inspiration he draws from great musicians. “My inspiration always comes from inside. Listening to great artistes helped build me up and keeps me grounded.”

Poska cites a powerful roster of musical icons as role models. They include Calvin Harris, David Guetta, DJ Khaled, Nigeria’s own DJ Jimmy Jatt and DJ Snoop Da Damaja, alongside DJ Jazzy Jeff, DJ Premier, and A-Trak.

Looking to the future, Poska who is wrapping up plans for his debut single, envisions an even grander stage for Afrobeat in Russia and beyond. “I see myself taking Afrobeat culture in Russia and the world beyond any imagination,” he noted.
