The National Universities Commission (NUC) has granted full accreditation to all academic programmes at Novena University, Ogume, Delta State.

The development, confirmed in a letter dated April 30, 2025, covers key courses such as Medicine, Pharmacy, Law, Computer Science, and several others. The letter was signed by the NUC’s Director of Accreditation, Engr. Abraham Chundusu.

A total of 14 programmes received full accreditation, including Cyber Security, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Mass Communication, Sociology, and International Relations. Only Telecommunications Technology remains under interim accreditation.

The latest recognition follows earlier approvals in 2024 for other courses such as Nursing, Public and Community Health, Anatomy, Physiology, Pharmacology, and Accounting.

Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Godwin Nduka, expressed joy over the development, attributing the success to the university’s academic staff and infrastructure.

“Our students can now study with complete confidence, knowing they are part of a fully accredited institution,” he said.

Dr Emmanuel Odishika, the university’s Director of Information and Public Relations, described the accreditation as the perfect gift ahead of the school’s 20th anniversary in June.

Established in 2005, Novena University is the first private university in Delta State and offers both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
