A member of the Ekiti State Waste Management Board, Mr. Wale Ade-Oba, has resigned his appointment, launching a scathing attack on Governor Biodun Oyebanji and accusing the administration of underperformance and neglect of party loyalists.

In a strongly worded statement made available to PLATFORM TIMES on Wednesday, Ade-Oba said his decision to step down stemmed from what he described as the “uninspiring leadership” of Governor Oyebanji, whom he accused of wasting public resources while abandoning the grassroots.

The former appointee, who hails from Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government Area, cited a lack of tangible development across the state despite heavy budgetary allocations.

He further alleged that core All Progressives Congress (APC) members who worked tirelessly to secure electoral victory in the 2022 governorship poll were now being sidelined in favour of individuals from opposition parties.

Ade-Oba, who announced his defection to the political camp of the Pro-Chancellor of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Engr. Kayode Ojo, praised Ojo’s leadership acumen and said he was joining hands with “a visionary prepared to rescue Ekiti from stagnation.”

His statement read in part : “After deep reflection, I have decided to stop working with the current administration. I can no longer be part of a government that has failed to deliver meaningful development, especially in my local government.

“The governor is frequently out of the state, pursuing unclear and unproductive agendas. Meanwhile, loyal APC members have been completely sidelined, while beneficiaries from the opposition are rewarded with appointments. This is both unjust and demoralizing.”

Ade-Oba declared that Engr. Ojo represents the leadership Ekiti needs at this critical time, adding that Ojo’s governance philosophy aligns with the yearnings of the people for development, inclusion, and transparency.

“My decision to join Engr. Kayode Ojo’s movement is born out of my conviction that Ekiti deserves more. I am committed to being part of a transformational team that puts the people first,” he stated.
