Rising content creator and actress Njideka George, known for her witty and relatable lifestyle content on Instagram, recently marked a new chapter in her life as she celebrated her birthday. But this wasn’t just another cake-and-candle affair for the outspoken entertainer. It was a deeply personal milestone.

Reflecting on turning a year older, Njideka shared how this birthday was unlike any other.

“I didn’t just turn a year older; I turned into a new version of myself. Honestly, I feel like I’ve aged ten years in one. Everything about me; my mindset, my body, my goals have shifted. Last year, I was 128.8kg. This year, I weigh 89kg. That’s 39kg down! So yes, I feel the difference in my bones, literally. This birthday wasn’t just about age, it was proof that I’m still standing. I am not just a voice; I am a movement,” she told Saturday Sun.

Like many young Nigerian women navigating career success and personal fulfillment, Njideka faces the ever-familiar societal pressure to settle down.

“Let’s just say ‘when will you marry?’ The question still makes the guest list at every family event, but I believe in timing and alignment. I’m not just trying to bring someone home for society’s sake. I want someone who fits into the future I’m building. Until then, I’ll keep being intentional with my growth and enjoy my bed space in peace,” she stated.

When asked if there’s anything she would change about herself, the actress said she’s learning to stop explaining herself to people determined to misunderstand her.

“Other than that, I’m proud of how far I’ve come. Every scar, every lesson, every tear built this version of me. I’m not perfect, but I’m powerful and I’ll choose this version of me every single time. I’m not called Madam President for nothing.”
