A galaxy of very important personalities, including the representative of Ogun East Senatorial District, Senator Gbenga Daniel; veteran journalist, Mayor Akinpelu; Publisher of The Eagle Online, Dotun Oladipo; and juju music superstar, Sir Shina Peters, who was also on the band stand, were among those who honoured eminent journalist, Femi Davies, at the burial of his mother, Deaconess Bolajoko Oluranti Idowu (1947-2025).

It was a farewell wrapped in worship, gratitude, music, and memory as Davies and his brothers and other members of the family bade farewell to mama.
Davies led friends, well wishers and dignitaries in celebrating the remarkable life of his late mother, Deaconess Bolajoko Oluranti Idowu, who passed into eternal rest on Friday, July 4th, 2025, at the age of 78.
A woman of deep faith and quiet strength, Deaconess Idowu was remembered not just as a mother, wife, and community leader—but as a nurturer whose life impacted many.
Her farewell began with a Wake Keep on July 24, 2025 at Christ Baptist Church, Alimosho, Lagos State.
The service featured Bible readings from 1 Corinthians 15:35–50 and 1 Thessalonians 4:13, testimonies from friends, the women’s society, and her children, and a special musical number that moved many to deep thoughts.
The next morning, July 25, a Lying-in-State and Funeral Service were held at the same church.
A brief biography was read by her second son, Kunle Idowu, reflecting on her life as a dedicated nurse, a wife to Moses Olalekan Idowu, and a mother who raised her children with dignity and devotion.
The church service was solemn and soul-lifting, filled with prayers, hymns, and thanksgiving.
Family, friends, and church members came together to bid her farewell, followed by a peaceful interment ceremony and graveside benediction that was held in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.
