The Federal Government of Nigeria has reiterated its strong willingness to collaborate with both local and foreign companies to advance renewable energy initiatives aimed at achieving sustainable power generation, curbing dependence on fossil fuels, and fostering a greener environment.
This assurance was made by Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, during a visit from a delegation of KF Manufacturing Company, Guangzhou, China, led by their Managing Director and CEO, Bruce Zheng, at the SGF’s office in Abuja.
According to a statement issued by Director of Information and Public Relations, Segun Imohiosen, Akume highlighted the critical importance of renewable energy in Nigeria’s economic recovery and sustainability plans. He stressed that the government is actively inviting capable and technologically equipped companies to engage in renewable energy projects throughout the nation. “Nigeria must keep pace with the global clean energy transition. The government remains open to genuine partners who can provide reliable and efficient power solutions for households, industries, and businesses,” he said.
In addressing the business environment, the Secretary to the Government emphasised ongoing government reforms designed to ease the cost of doing business. These measures include the removal of multiple foreign exchange windows and the abolition of multiple taxation, aimed at supporting small and medium enterprises and attracting genuine investors.
The MD/CEO of KF Manufacturing, Bruce Zheng, acknowledged the limited adoption of renewable energy within some government institutions and expressed his company’s readiness to partner with Nigerian authorities to promote clean, safe, and eco-friendly energy alternatives. The company supplies solar panels, batteries, and inverters that comply with green energy standards.
