The National Orientation Agency has successfully conducted its 2026 nationwide promotion examination, marking the second year of the Computer-Based Testing (CBT) innovation introduced by the Director-General, Lanre Issa-Onilu.

According to a post obtained from the agency’s X handle on Friday, the examination, facilitated by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), commenced at 9am and concluded at 10.15am.

Supervisors overseeing the process included officials from the Office of the Head of Service, JAMB, the Federal Character Commission, and senior NOA officers.

Speaking on the development, the Director of Human Resources Management, Mrs. Joanah Ayisola Olowoyo, thanked the Director-General for fulfilling his promise to conduct early promotion examinations for staff.

She noted that before the CBT system was introduced, staff had to travel across states to sit for promotion exams.

Olowoyo explained that the adoption of CBT now allows staff to write their promotion exams within their respective states.

She added that this reform would enhance professionalism and support career development within the Agency.

“The introduction of Computer-Based Testing by the current Director-General now allows staff to write their promotion exams within their respective states, a reform she said would significantly strengthen professionalism and career development within the Agency,” she added.

Several candidates also commended the Director-General, highlighting the positive impact of the innovation on staff welfare, cost reduction, and overall productivity.

Since assuming office in October 2023, Issa-Onilu has discontinued the previous practice of sending staff to designated states within their geo-political zones for promotion exams.

The transition from handwritten examinations to CBT is part of his broader reforms aimed at improving efficiency and modernising NOA’s operations.
