Engineer Mike Adeyanju has congratulated the government and people of Ondo State on the state’s 50th anniversary, describing the golden jubilee as a celebration of resilience, unity and steady progress since its creation in 1976.
In a goodwill message to mark the milestone,

Adeyanju said the anniversary provided an opportunity for reflection on the journey so far and renewed commitment to building a stronger and more prosperous state.

He said, “Fifty years is not just a milestone; it is a testament to the enduring spirit, rich culture and unwavering pursuit of progress by the people of Ondo State. This is a moment to celebrate our shared heritage and to look forward with confidence to a brighter future.”

Adeyanju praised the diversity and contributions of communities across the state, from Akoko, Owo and Ose to Akure, Idanre, Ondo, Ikale, Ilaje and Ese-Odo, noting that the collective efforts of the people had shaped Ondo into one of the most respected states in the South-West.

He also commended Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for what he described as purposeful and people-centred leadership, saying the administration had shown renewed commitment to infrastructure development, peace, and human capital growth.

“Governor Aiyedatiwa has come at a critical moment in our history. His leadership reflects steady hands, compassion and vision, which are essential for navigating the challenges of modern governance,” Adeyanju said.

He expressed optimism about Ondo State’s future, projecting it as a potential industrial hub of the South-West, with empowered youths, prosperous farmers and citizens benefiting directly from good governance.

“As we celebrate this golden jubilee, we pray that Ondo State will continue to rise higher. This anniversary is not the end of a chapter but the beginning of a more vibrant era,” he added.

Adeyanju urged residents to remain united and supportive of the current administration’s vision, stressing that sustained peace and collaboration were key to achieving the state’s development goals.

Ondo State, created on February 3, 1976, marks its 50th anniversary this year, with activities planned across the state and among citizens in the diaspora to commemorate the milestone
