Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State has sacked six of his appointees and suspended the Chairman of the State House of Assembly Service Commission, Johnbull Shekarau, in a move aimed at repositioning his administration for improved service delivery.

The Secretary to the State Government, Samuel Jatau, disclosed this in a statement issued on Tuesday in Jos, noting that the decision was part of ongoing efforts to enhance efficiency within government operations.

Those relieved of their appointments include the Special Adviser to the Governor on Strategic Communication, Timothy Golu; Liaison Officer for Jos South, Fom Gwottson; as well as Nanbol Rimvyat and Nannim Langyi, who served as Liaison Officers for Langtang North.

Also affected are Paul Datugum and Nimchat Rims, who were Liaison Officers for Qua’an Pan and Langtang South Local Government Areas, respectively.

Jatau added that Shekarau’s suspension followed allegations of conduct deemed inconsistent with the standards expected of his office, although specific details were not disclosed.

The SSG directed all affected officials to hand over government property in their possession to the appropriate authorities without delay.

While appreciating their contributions to the administration, the governor wished the affected appointees success in their future endeavours.
